Conference on Disarmament
Statement by Mr Paul Wilson
Deputy Permanent Representative of Australia to the Conference on Disarmament
8 July 2010
Mr President,
I wish to record on behalf of the Australian delegation our thanks for your active and consultative leadership during your Presidency of the Conference on Disarmament.
We thank you for your efforts and those of your delegation to help the CD do what so many in this place, and outside it as well, want it to do – get back to work and get back to substantive work.
Mr President,
Australia supports CD/1889 as a comprehensive and balanced program of work.
In paying tribute to your individual leadership in this place during your Presidency, Australia hopes that collective leadership can also be found in this place to get the CD back to substantive work.
I thank you.
